FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--Sophomore
Liam Bland scored a pair of goals, including the go-ahead tally in the third period, to lift the Lawrence Tech men's hockey team to a 6-4 victory Saturday evening over visiting Concordia (Michigan) at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena. The Blue Devils improve to 12-8 overall and 11-5 in the Wolverine–Hoosier Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals dip to 8-11-1 on the season and 5-11 in the conference.

How it Happened
- Bland scored his second goal of the game on a feed from sophomore Maximus Nguyen to snap a 4-4 tie with 13 minutes and 5 seconds left.
- About 3 minutes later, sophomore defenseman Kaden Hemme scored an insurance goal on assists by graduate student Thimo Ey and sophomore Drake Barnish.
- Lawrence Tech spurted to a 4-0 lead with two goals each in the first and second periods. Fifth-year senior Patrick McGowan, sophomore Justin Hubenschmidt, Bland and Barnish found the back of the net.
- But the Cardinals went on a four-goal run of their own starting with Seth Francois at 11:29 of the second period. Then Nicholas Twombley and Derek Hebner scored 1:49 apart beginning at the 4:52 mark. Sam Sahr tied it 4-all to open the scoring in the third period at 14:25.
