SOUTHFIELD, Mich - The Lawrence Tech women's soccer team hosted no.4 ranked Aquinas, falling 4-0. The Blue Devils record is 4-5-3 overall and 2-2-2 in conference, while the Saints are 10-0 overall and 7-0 in conference.
Junior keeper Gabi Nelson started the game for the Blue Devils, making 7 saves on the Saints 10 shots on goal. Senior keeper Sydney Schnurstein stepped into the game 61:58 minute mark, making 2 saves on 3 shots on goal.
With the Blue Devils playing very defensively in the first half with 7 Aquinas shots on goal and 1 Lawrence Tech shot on goal, Nelson was able to stop all 7 shots from the Saints in the first half. The Blue Devils headed into the second half tied at 0. The Saints came out hot in the second half scoring the first goal of the game at the 46:13 minute mark and just 6 minutes later they extended their lead to 2. The Saints continuing to fire, they score once again at the 61:38 minute mark and just 10 minutes later making the score 4-0. That concluded the scoring, ending in a 4-0 loss over Aquinas.
The Blue Devils will be back in action Saturday as they head out to Lourdes for a 7pm kickoff.
