SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological University Men's Lacrosse team opened up ther season against NCAA D3 Hornets of Kalamazoo College. The Blue Devils battled but fell short in the end, dropping this one 13-10. The Blue Devils start their season 0-1.
The Hornets took a quick 2-0 lead at the start of the game, however, the Blue Devils responded back to tie the game. Fifth year senior
Damian Hudson scored the first goal of the 2024 season for the Blue Devils. Kalamazoo scored one more goal to close out the first quarter, Lawrence Tech heading into the second quarter down 3-2. Kalamazoo added another tally to their lead just 47 seconds into the second quarter. Junior
Jacob Cianci cut the Hornets lead down to one, making the score 4-3. Kalamazoo went on to score four unanwsered goals until senior
Ryan Pastorino ended the second quarter with a goal.
The Blue Devils went into the second half of the game down 8-4.
Lawrence Tech opened up the scoring in the third quarter from junior
Jonathan Richter. The Hornets responded right back. Lawrence Tech and Kalamazoo went back and forth for a while in the third quater, ending the quarter 11-7 in favor of the Hornets. The Blue Devils came out strong in the forth quarter, scoring two unawnsered goals. Kalamazoo responded with 3:27 left in the game. Junior
Grady Holmes scored one more goal and the final goal for the Blue Devils. Kalamazoo securing their lead, scored one more goal to end the game.

The Blue Devils will have a week to regenerate for a scrimmage against Grand Valley State University on Saturday February, 17th at Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse.
