During spring break, the baseball team will face some of their toughest tests, highlighted by a road tilt versus #12 Webber International and a neutral site match against (RV) Concordia-Nebraska.
Following spring break, LTU opens conference play at Indiana Tech.
The Blue Devils don't get a chance to see their main home field, Jimmy John's Field, until March 30, as their only home series prior to that is March 17 versus Cleary at The Corner Ballpark in Detroit.
Leading into April, Lawrence Tech will face UNOH (March 30), Rochester (April 6-7), Madonna (April 9), and Cornerstone (April 12) at Jimmy John's for five straight series.
Closing out the season, the team travel to Madonna and Lourdes before finishing the season at home against Siena Heights.
The Blue Devils return a team that averaged over 7 runs a game last season, and look to keep hitting after losing two key hitters. But, with seniors
Jason Erhardt (.420/4HR/38RBI),
Jake Llaneza (.358/8HR/43RBI), and junior
Joel Stirnemann (.343/2HR/30RBI)--the three best hitters by average who returned-- the team is poised to continue to score a ton of runs.
The pitching staff, led by senior
Dominic Puccetti (98 Ks, 2nd in WHAC), sophomore
Kenny Wright (40Ks in 51.2 IP) and Llaneza (35Ks in 24 IP), look keep hitters at bay.
