LIVONIA, Mich.--Senior Brandon Beavers scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the second half, and junior Cameron McEvans came off the bench to net 21, to lead the Lawrence Tech men's basketball team to an 84-81 upset victory over nationally No. 14-ranked Madonna at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena at the PAAAC on Saturday.

The Blue Devils, who improve to 3-0 versus the NAIA Top-25 this season, up their season record to 19-9 including a 15-7 mark in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. The first-place Crusaders' eight-game winning streak is snapped, falling to 23-5 overall and 19-3 in the WHAC.

The Blue Devils, who never trailed in a game that had just four ties, enjoyed its biggest lead of the game of eight points, 14-6, with 14 minutes and 16 seconds remaining in the first half. Lawrence Tech took a 35-30 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, LTU kept Madonna at bay save for the last tie of the contest at 37-all with 16:06 remaining when a McEvans 3ball but the visitors ahead to stay. The Blue Devils even extended their lead to seven points on a few occasions.

Madonna had the last possession to send the game into overtime. The Crusaders had two clean looks from the three-point arc in the last 13 seconds, but both missed the mark.
