Coach Mertz on the match: "The women fought hard for their first match of the season. I think there were some missed opportunities in spots, but now that we have a match under our belt and the rust off, when we get into those positions again they will go in our favor. Lake State is always a tough team and we look forward to playing them each year."
The Blue Devils continue at Wayne State on Monday at 12:45pm.
