SOUTHFIELD, Mich.. -- The Lawrence Technological University women's lacrosse team hosted No. 3 University of the Cumblerlands in their home opener. This is was the fourth consecutive game against teams that were at least receiving votes in the last coaches poll—#4 Keiser, (RV) Webber International, (RV) Ave Maria, and #3 Cumberlands.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Cumberlands led 5-0 after the first quarter. 
• The Blue Devils took over in the second, scoring 5 of the 8 goals, still trailing 8-5 heading into the second half.
• Both the Blue Devils and the Patriots scored 4 goals in the second half of the game, which would not be enough for the Blue Devils comeback. 

GAME NOTES:

• Mari Pellmann led the Blue Devils with 6 points (5 goals, 1 assist)
• Anna Lobbezoo led the Patriots with 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists)
• Anabelle Acluche (4-1) was in goal for the Blue Devils. She saved 9 shots
