BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University Men's Lacrosse team opened up WHAC play on Saturday against the Wolverines of Michigan-Dearborn. The Blue Devils fell 15-8. The Blue Devils are 0-1 in conference play and 1-4 overall this season, while the Wolverines are 1-1 in conference play and 3-4 overall.
The Wolverines scored the first goal but the Blue Devils tied it up with a goal from senior Eli Lozinski. Shortly after Lozinski's goal, junior Nick Soukup broke the tie. Dearborn tied it back up shortly after Soukup's goal. Soukup completed his hat trick by scoring two more goals to close out the first quarter and give the Blue Devils the lead. The Wolverines started off strong in the start of the second quarter, scoring three unanswered goals. Sophomore Trevor Donohue scored, tying it up at 5. Both the Wolverines and the Blue Devils scored a goal a piece before closing out the first half of the game.
Dearborn controlled the second half of this game, they put three unanswered goals up in the third quarter. Senior Ryan Pasorino scored the only goal for the Blue Devils in the third quarter. Wolverine's went on to score three more goals closing out the third quarter. Dearborn scored another three more goals in the fourth quarter. Junior Jacob Cianci scored the final goal of the game, ending the game 15-8 in favor of the Wolverines.
Junior Jonathan Richter tallied four assists for the Blue Devils.
Sophomore Jerret Willershausen played in goal for the Blue Devils, facing 24 shots, saving 9.
