SOUTHFIELD, MICH. — The Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team hosted Cornerstone in their first match since to their spring break trip, opening up conference play.
In doubles:
Taylor Mattingly-Harnden/
Rafaela Tedesco dropped the 2-doubles match to S. Daza/J. Koenes 6-1.
Miriam McCormick/
Angela Anderanin fell in the 3-doubles match against C. Ibarra/H.D. Sanchez 6-2, earning the point for the Golden Eagles.
The top-flight doubles match saw L. Matamoros/R. Castillo defeated
Jacqueline Alcocer/
Paola Herrera Rivera, 6-4, earning the sweep of the Blue Devils in doubles.
In singles:
2-seeded Castillo beat Tedesco in straight 6-1 sets.

In the top flight, Matamoros dismantled Herrera Rivera, 6-1, 6-3.

3-singles had Daza defeat McCormick 6-3, 6-2. This secured the victory for Cornerstone

Sharaf overpowered Alcocer in 4-singles 6-0, 6-2.

Mattingly-Harnden was outmatched by Koenes in 5-singles, suffering a 6-1, 6-2 defeat.

#6 singles saw Sanchez and
Taylor Moore battle. Sanchez came out on top, 7-6(3), 6-0, to give Cornerstone a 7-0 victory.
