CALEDONIA, MICH. -- The Lawrence Technological University Baseball team traveled to take on the Aquinas Saints in conference play.
Game 1
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Aquinas scored two on a triple and sac bunt combination
- The Blue Devils struggled to get anything going, as Gauthier put a kibosh on the offense, only mustering 6 base runners
NOTES:
- Dominic Puccetti started and pitched 3 IP, allowing 2 runs (both earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3. He took the loss
- Ethan Hochendoner pitched the remaining 3 IP, allowing 2 hits and striking out 6.
Game 2
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jake Llaneza broke a scoreless tie wit a 2-run homer in the sixth
- A two-out triple in the sixth tied the game for Aquinas
- The Blue Devils took the lead back in the top of the ninth, scoring two while only mustering a single hit.
NOTES:
- Jake Llaneza started and pitched 3 IP, allowing no runs on 2 hits and 1 walks, striking out 5.
- Jeremy Flattery pitched a scoreless inning in relief
- Matt Olson pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief. He was credited with the win.
The Blue Devils (12-8, 5-1) face Concordia on Friday, March 29.
