FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech softball team hosted the Saints of Aquinas on Tuesday afternoon for another WHAC double header.The Blue Devils split the day falling in game 1, 8-2 and winning in game 2, 8-0. Lawrence Tech is now 9-9 in conference and 20-23 on their overall season. The Saints are now 11-5 in conference and 29-9 on their overall season.
Game 1:
The Saints snagged the lead in the third inning, scoring three runs. The Blue Devils cut down their lead in the bottom of the third by 2 with sophomore
Alyssa Bloomfield hitting a single to center field, scoring junior
Larissa Mercado. Junior
Gloriana Su'a singled to center field in the fifth inning to score Freshman
Ashlyn Bloomfield, making the score 3-2. The Saints came out firing in the sixth inning, scoring five runs. Ash. Bloomfield hit a double and a single, Su'a had 2 hits, freshman
Abby Gardner, Aly. Bloomfield, and Mercado all had a hit. Sophomore
Mikayla Timm pitched for the Blue Devils, allowing 6 hits for the Saints and 6 runs scored. Timm struck out 3 Saints in 6.2 innings pitched. Freshman
Jocelyn Hall stepped in, in the sixth inning for Timm, allowing 2 hits and 2 runs scored for the Saints in 0.1 innings pitched.

Ashlyn Bloomfield was the lead off hitter for the Blue Devils in the first inning as she set the tone early hitting a home run. Her older sister,
Alyssa Bloomfield hit a single to center field, scoring junior
Morgan James in the second inning, giving the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead. Freshman
Abby Gardner reached first on an error which ended up scoring sophomore
Chloe Hug in the third inning. Ash. Bloomfield happened to be the lead off hitter for the Blue Devils in the fourth inning and she hit another home run off the first pitch, extending the Blue Devils lead to 4-0. The Blue Devils had an explosive sixth inning starting off with Ash. Bloomfield doubling down the left field line, scoring freshman
Zoey Markey. Her sister Alyssa kept the intensity going when she singled to center field, scoring her sister, Ashlyn. Junior
Gloriana Su'a ended the game 8-0, hitting a two run home run. Senior
Clover Brandt pitched for the Blue Devils, allowing 4 hits and struck out 2 Saints in 6 innings pitched.
The Blue Devils are back in action Saturday afternoon against Michigan-Dearborn for another WHAC double header at 1 and 3pm.
