LIVONIA, MICH. -- The Lawrence Technological University baseball team traveled to face WHAC rival Madonna. Only one game was scheduled to be played today, due to an impendng bout of rain. The Blue Devils came away 7-2 winners today, and will try to take the season series from Madonna next week.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Blue Devils got the scoring started in the second when Logan Walker's infield single with the bases loaded plated Jake Llaneza
• Two batters later, Joel Stirnemann was hit by a pitch, scoring Jason Erhardt
• Erhardt took Madonna starter Riley Vermander deep to right-center, scoring himself and best friend Llaneza
• Madonna's Kyle Revere collected one back for the Crusaders taking Dominic Puccetti deep to left for a solo shot
• Erhardt brings in Ben Moore with a single in the fifth
• Stirnemann adds two more, singling in Walker and Nick Post

NOTES:

• Dominic Puccetti started and went 8 IP. He allowed 1 run (earned) on 6 hits and two walk, striking out 13. He earned the win
• Carter Dixon pitched 1 inning allowing 1 run (unearned)
• Jason Erhardt and Jake Llaneza led the team with 3 hits apiece
• Zach Meier extends his hit streak to 13 games
• Joel Stirnemann extends his on-base streak to 20 games and his hitting streak to 11 games

The Blue Devils return to action this weekend for four at Lourdes April 20-21, with both doubleheaders starting at 1pm.
