ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech softball team headed out to Rochester Christian on Sunday afternoon for another WHAC double header.The Blue Devils swept the day winning in game 1, 3-1 and winning in game 2, 9-2. Lawrence Tech is now 13-9 in conference and 24-23 on their overall season. The Warriors are now 1-21 in conference and 3-32 on their overall season.
Game 1:
The Blue Devils scored first in the first inning with junior
Gloriana Su'a reaching first on a fielding error by the warriors third baseman which lead sophomore
Alyssa Bloomfield to score. Thw Warriors tied the game up in the fourth inning. Su'a broke the tie in the sixth inning hitting a two run home run, with the Blue Devils taking the 3-1 win. Al. Bloomfield hit a double and a single, junior
Morgan James had 2 hits, sophomore
Ainsley Colman, and freshman
Abby Gardner both had a hit. Senior
Clover Brandt pitched for the Blue Devils allowing 6 hits and 1 run scored for the Warriors. Brandt struck out 1 Warrior in 7 innings pitched.
Game 2:
Rochester scored first in the first inning, giving them the 1-0 lead. The Blue Devils tied the game up in the third inning when Al. Bloomfield doubled to center field, scoring freshman
Zoey Markey. Lawrence Tech came out firing in the fourth inning, scoring 5 runs, which gave the Blue Devils a 6-1 lead. The Warriors attempted to come back in the bottom of the fourth inning but could only score one run. Freshman
Abby Gardner hit a 3 run home run in the seventh inning securing the Blue Devils victory. Junior
Lily Morrissette hit a triple, Al. Bloomfield, Su'a, and Colman all hit doubles. Sophomore
Mikayla Timm pitched for the Blue Devils allowing 6 hits and 2 runs scored for the Warriors. Timm struck out 1 Warrior in 5.2 innings pitched. Freshman
Sarah Basket closed out the game for the lue Devils, striking out 2 warriors in 1.1 innings pitched.
The Blue Devils are back in action May 1-3 for the WHAC tournament. We will know more information on opponent and game times when all WHAC teams finish regular season play.
