SOUTHFIELD, MICH. -- The Lawrence Technological University baseball team faced Cornerstone in a makeup from April 12. The Blue Devils took the doubleheader 5-1 and 10-0 (7 Inn.)

Game 1
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Blue Devils scored in the first by coming home on an attempted steal
• Trent Reed hit another home run, for the second in as many days, extending the lead to three
• Cornerstone scored their lone run on an error in the fourth
• In the sixth Jason Erhardt scores Ben Moore with a single to left
• A batter later, Jack Burch's double down the right field line scored Sawyer Pugh (running for Erhardt) giving LTU a 5-1 lead
• Ethan Hochendoner completes the game with a 1-2-3 seventh

NOTES:

• Ethan Hochendoner started and pitched a complete game, allowing 1 run (none earned) on 5 hits, striking out a career-high 10. He earned the win
• Zach Meier led the team with 3 hts, he went 3-for-3 in the game

Game 2
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• No runs scored until the bottom of the fifth
• A fly ball to shallow left-center led to Joel Stirnemann's fielder's choice scoring Logan Walker 
• Two batters later, Meier singled in Stirnemann to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead
• Lawrence Tech scored 6 in the sixth
  • The inning started with three consecutive walks
  • Walker singled, moving everyone up one base
  • Cameron Hardy's hit-by-pitch moved them up anther station
  • Stirnemann walks, for the fourth one of the inning
  • Meier doubled in Stirnemann and Tasker Tripi (running for Hardy)
  • Llaneza singled in Meier
• A Walker double put runners on second and third wth the mercy rule awaiting
• Tripi's sac fly scores Nick Post
• Reed's shot to the gap scored Logan Walker, to end the game in a walk-off

NOTES:

• Dominic Puccetti started and pitched a complete game, allowing no runs on 2 hits and a walk, striking out a career-high 16 (2 shy of tying the school record). He earned the win.
• Zach Meier led the team with 3 hits, finishing the double dip 6-for-7

The Blue Devils (27-16, 19-9 WHAC) conclude their regular season against Siena Heights at home this weekend.
