KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- Lawrence Tech men's basketball senior guard Brandon Beavers chalked up another award for his postseason trophy case when the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced this week that the Blue Devils' modern day all-time leading scorer earned All-America status. The Columbus, Ohio product (Harvest Prep Academy/Shawnee State University), was the lone representative out of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference to be recognized in making the NAIA All-America Third Team.

"First and foremost, all the glory goes to God. I want to thank my teammates and coaches for their support in earning this honor, because without them I wouldn't be the complete player that I strive to be," Beavers stated. "Being an All-American is a great feeling and the result of all the work I put into obtaining this accomplishment. This award is a blessing."

This is his first time being named an NAIA All-American as Beavers becomes the first Blue Devils All-American since current assistant coach Ty Searles in 2019. All told, four different LTU players have earned five All-America citations.

""I'm very happy for Brandon on being chosen one of the top-45 players across the NAIA. It's very deserving and a testament to his hard work and leadership within our men's basketball program," added LTU men's basketball head coach Josh Pickens, who just completed his seventh season at the helm. "He is certainly a dynamic player in a very competitive WHAC conference. I also believe his being named an All-American is a reflection that LTU is building upon its sustained successes as a program."

Beavers enjoyed a career year averaging 20.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while recording 59 steals and 140 assists on the season. He listed first in the conference in scoring average, second in rebounding and steals, and third in assists. He also was third with 75 three-pointers made and sixth with an 83.9 free throw percentage (104-124).

At the conclusion of the regular season, Beavers was chosen the 2023-24 WHAC Player of the Year. In addition, Beavers earned a spot on the All-WHAC First Team for the first time since 2022 and was named all-conference for the third time in his career after garnering second-team in 2021. Also a WHAC All-Defensive Team selection, he led the WHAC with four conference player of the week citations this season, including the last three to end the regular season.

Beavers' WHAC statistical rankings include first in scoring (20.4 ppg), second in rebounding (8.3) and steals (58), and third in assists (137) and fifth in three-point field goals made (71).

For his NAIA career, Beavers started at LTU on the 2020 WHAC All-Freshman Team and finished with 2,024 points in three seasons at LTU and the 2022-23 campaign at Shawnee State. He leaves his Blue Devils career with 1,625 points in a blue and white uniform.

The NAIA All-America structure included two teams of 12 players each and a third team made up of 19 student-athletes to comprise the full list.
