Matheus Andrade Nabs WHAC Defender of the Week Citation in Men's Volleyball

The Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil, product averaged 4.0 digs per set in two WHAC wins

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--For the second week in a row and fifth time overall in 2024, a Lawrence Tech men's volleyball student-athlete has received weekly recognition from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The conference office on Monday announced that graduate student Matheus Andrade is the WHAC Defender of the Week.

The outside hitter from Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil, racked up 4.00 digs per set to help LTU take a WHAC weekend road sweep of teams receiving votes in the NAIA Top-15. Andrade posted a Blue Devils career-high 21 digs in a 3-1 win at No. 13 Lourdes and then 15 more at #RV Indiana Tech. He recorded a .923 reception percentage while making only three errors in 39 receptions.

For the season, Andrade is second in the WHAC with 2.72 digs per set.
