Mario Cid pounded match bests of 17 kills and .652 attack percentage to lead the Lawrence Tech men's volleyball squad to a convincing 25-18, 25-13, 18-25, 25-14 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory Tuesday over host Aquinas at the Sturrus Center.

Brendon Down added to the LTU offense, which outhit the Saints .333 to .109 for the match, with 11 kills. Sophomore
Nathaniel Brownlee posted a match-high 45 assists.
Connor Staats paced the home team with 13 kills.
Defensively, the Blue Devils were led by reigning NAIA and WHAC Defensive Player of the Week graduate student
Matheus Andrade with a match-best 12 digs, followed by freshman
Gustavo Machado (8 kills) with 10 digs and three total blocks.
Lawrence Tech didn't trail in the entire match until midway through the third set and already up 2-0 after hitting .524 and .481 in the opening two frames. An Ernesto Lopez block gave Aquinas its first lead at 13-12 as the Saints would take the third by seven points.
In the fourth set, LTU got off to a quick start with 7-3, 14-7 and 18-11 advantages to cruise to the victory.
Lawrence Tech will wrap up the regular season at home this weekend when WHAC opponents Bethel University (Indiana) and Goshen invade the Don Ridler Field House on Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (3 p.m.), respectively.
