Box Score LIMA, OHIO--The Lawrence Technological University baseball team continued their trek through the WHAC tournament, facing Madonna with te winner advancing to the pod championship. Both teams fought hard, forcing extra innings, but Madonna came away on top 10-9 in 10 innings
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Madonna scored first with rus in the first and second
- Brett Reed's fielder's choice plated Nick Post to get the Blue Devils on the board
- A batter later, Joel Stiremann reached on an error, B. Reed coming around to score
- Madonna took a 3-2 lead on Rebollar's home run
- A run in the fifth gave the Crusaders a 4-2 advantage
- Stirnemann was hit with bases-loaded
- Trent Reed's sac fly tied the game at 4
- Rebollar's second home run of the day gave Madonna a 6-4 lead in the seventh
- Jake Llaneza answered with a homer for himself in the seventh, bringing LTU within one, once again
- A pair of RBI singles extended the Crusader lead to three
- Zach Meier singled in Stirnemann and T. Reed, clawing the Blue Devils back to within one
- Llaneza hits his second of the game, scoring Meier (LTU 9, MU 8)
- Madonna tied it up in the ninth with an RBI single
- Trent Reed doubled with one outÂ
- Llaneza, with a walkoff opportunity in front of him, was hit by a pitch
- Jason Erhardt grounded out to end the ninth, forcing extras.
- Sharkas hit a homer to left off Matt Olson in the 10th to take a 10-9 lead
