FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Blue Devils took on the Red Wolves of Indiana University East in their final match of the Onset Volleyball Invitational Tournament Friday morning in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Blue Devils, led by Coach Nichols, lost to the Red Wolves in three sets.
Lawrence Tech lost the first set by a score of 20-25 and the second set 15-25. Going into a must-win third set down 2-0, the Blue Devils let the set slip away with a third-set loss, 21-25.
The Red Wolves, who entered today's match with a 3-1 record, brought their best against the Blue Devils, defeating Lawrence Tech 3-0 Friday morning and rounding out the Onset Volleyball Invitational Tournament. Key players for the Blue Devils were senior Lindsay Hubler (17 points) and sophomore Maria Trevino Nunez (7 points).
The Lawrence Tech women's volleyball team will be back in action next Friday (8/30) as they take on the Cougars of Spring Arbor University in the Siena Heights Tournament in Adrian, Michigan. The (1-2) Blue Devils will look to bounce back as they open the first nine games of the 2024 season on the road.
