Lawrence Tech Athletics Announce 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees

| By:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Lawrence Tech University has announced the newest additions to the Blue Devils Hall of Fame with the 2024 class. Founded in 2011 following the reinstatement of varsity athletics at Lawrence Tech University, the Hall of Fame is one of the most prestigious honors a student-athlete, team, coach, or past athletic staff member can receive after their time with the university has concluded.

The Blue Devils Hall of Fame has inducted fewer than twenty members to date but will be adding three new members this year as they officially announce the HOF Class of 2024. The 2024 inductees will be honored on Friday, September 27th, at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in the Don Ridler Field House, starting at 6:45 p.m. They will also be recognized at halftime of the football game on September 28th.

The first of the three inductees for the Class of 2024 is Alyssa Shaver. Alyssa was a key player on the Blue Devils Women's Lacrosse team from 2014 to 2016, where she was one of the most feared goal scorers in the WHAC. During her three-year tenure with the women's lacrosse team, Alyssa scored 246 goals and provided 43 assists, averaging 5.45 points per game. She was a three-time All-WHAC First Team selection and earned NAIA All-American honors in 2016. In her senior season, Alyssa was named NWLL Offensive Player of the Year. After graduating from Lawrence Tech with a degree in Psychology in 2016, Alyssa continued to support the Blue Devils lacrosse team as an assistant coach in 2017, helping Lawrence Tech finish the season as NAIA National Runners-up.

The second inductee for the Blue Devils HOF Class of 2024 is Steve Rost. Rost was a major supporter of LTU Athletics during his 40-year tenure at the university, where he taught in LTU's College of Architecture & Design and also served as LTU's first ever Faculty Athletic Representative. Steve played a crucial role in the reinstatement of varsity athletics at Lawrence Tech in 2011. Even after his retirement from the university in 2022, Rost continues to provide assistance to the university, athletic department, and student-athletes.

The third addition to the Blue Devils HOF is Joshua Dirlam, who led the Lawrence Tech Men's Golf team from 2014 to 2018. Dirlam was named All-WHAC four times, including First Team Honors in 2014, 2015, and 2017. He was also part of the WHAC Academic All-Conference Team in 2016 and 2017. Dirlam was a two-time NAIA Tournament Qualifier and achieved NAIA National Scholar-Athlete status in 2017-18. Upon graduating from Lawrence Tech in 2018, Joshua held the record for the lowest season score (72.8) and career score (75.0). During his time with LTU, Dirlam recorded 216 career birdies and helped lead the Blue Devils to a 2nd place finish in the WHAC Championship in 2017-18.

Lawrence Tech will host a Hall of Fame induction ceremony along with a dinner prior to the induction ceremony on September 27th. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for appetizers and a meet-and-greet with coaches and inductees in the East Hall Lobby, followed by the Walk of Fame from East Hall to UTLC and dinner at 6 p.m. To participate in the Hall of Fame festivities, you can purchase tickets for the induction dinner and ceremony through the link below:
