Blue Devils Women's Volleyball Faces Tough Loss Against Rochester Christian

Box Score ROCHESTER, Mich. - In a thrilling WHAC Conference volleyball clash at Garth Pleasant Arena, Rochester Hills, MI, on October 15, 2025, the Lawrence Tech University Women's Volleyball team faced a challenging five-set defeat to the Rochester Christian 'Warriors.' The match concluded with a final score of 2-3 in favor of Rochester Christian.

The game started off strong for the Blue Devils, securing a promising lead by winning the first set 25-16. However, the tides turned in the second set as the Warriors fought back to take it 25-19. The third set saw a tight contest, with the Blue Devils narrowly edging out with a 25-23 win, demonstrating resilient play and strategic prowess. Unfortunately, the following two sets saw the Warriors gaining the upper hand, taking the fourth set 25-21 and securing the decisive fifth set 15-12.

Top performances were noted from Nya Matley, who led the team with 16 kills, Sydney Eggleton with 14 kills, and Maria Trevino Nunez contributing 12 kills. On the defensive front, Nicole Hughes showcased strong net defense with 4 blocks, followed by Maria Trevino Nunez and Nya Matley, both with 2 blocks. Sydney Eggleton also had an exceptional game defensively, achieving a high of 30 digs. The assists column was dominated by Ella Aberlich, providing an impressive 52 assists during the match.

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils will be back in action on October 17, 2025, against Lourdes University at their home court in Southfield, MI. This upcoming match holds special significance as it will be Senior Day for LTU. The team now holds a season record of 15-6, with a conference record of 8-5, as they continue to navigate through a competitive season.
