Box Score 2 The Blue Devils mens hockey team was in action this weekend, splitting the series with Aquinas.
The weekend series began on Friday, October 24, 2025, with the Blue Devils securing a hard-fought shutout victory at the Redford Ice Arena. The two conference rivals skated to a scoreless draw through the first period, with both defenses holding strong. However, the Blue Devils' persistence paid off in the subsequent periods, as the team netted two crucial goals to shut down the Saints, claiming a decisive 2-0 victory. The goals were scored by Zane Irion and Nick Twombley.
The action shifted to the Southside Ice Arena for Saturday, October 25, 2025, where the Blue Devils had a chance to complete the sweep. The Saints, eager to bounce back, jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a first-period goal. The Blue Devils showed their resilience, responding in the second period by storming back to take the lead. Goals were once again scored by Nick Twombley and Zane Irion, giving Lawrence Tech the 2-1 advantage. Twombley's goal was assisted by Adrian Gonzalez-Marin.
The lead was short-lived, as the Saints found an equalizer late in the second period to tie the game at 2-2. In a tense third period, the Saints pressed hard and ultimately found the game-winner in the closing minutes, stealing a narrow 3-2 victory.
Despite the tough loss on Saturday, the Blue Devils earned a critical series split on the road in WHAC play.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on November 2nd for an away game against Rochester Christian.
