REDFORD, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech Blue Devils had a dominant performance this past weekend, sweeping a two-game series against the Missouri State University Bears with decisive victories of 5-3 and 6-0.
Friday night's 5-3 win was a competitive battle that saw the Blue Devils pull away in the middle frame. After Missouri States player and Lawrence Tech's Benjamin De Haas traded goals in the first period, the Blue Devils took control in the second with three unanswered goals. Forward Cooper Jaskiewicz was instrumental, scoring two goals—including the game-winner—to build a lead that the Bears could not overcome.
Lawrence Tech then completed the sweep on Saturday with a commanding 6-0 shutout victory, powered by a highly efficient offense and robust team defense. The Blue Devils scored twice in the first period and then exploded for three more goals in the second period, all coming on the power play, thanks to tallies from Josh Pedersen, Trevor Losier, and Jaskiewicz, who netted his third goal of the weekend. The physical intensity escalated in the second period, resulting in multiple major penalties and game misconducts for both teams. Devin Genzel added a final goal in the third period to seal the 6-0 final, with the team allowing zero goals to secure the shutout victory.
The Blue Devils D3 hockey team will be back in action for a weekend series against Oakland University, beginning on November 7th in Rochester, Michigan.
