D3 Hockey Suffers Sweep Against Oakland

REDFORD, Mich. - The series against Oakland University was a disappointing one for Lawrence Tech, as the Blue Devils were ultimately swept in the two-game set. The first contest on Friday, November 7, 2025, ended in a 4-2 defeat at the Buffalo Wild Wings Arena. Despite the loss, Lawrence Tech managed to put up a fight and get on the scoreboard in both the first and third periods. In the opening frame, Josh Pedersen scored a power play goal, assisted by Nicholas Berrettini. Later in the game, Tommy Walsh added a goal in the third period, with an assist from Jeff Rand. Goaltender Timothy Young was a standout performer, facing a barrage of shots and recording an impressive 40 saves on the night.

The second game, a home matchup on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Redford Ice Arena, was a much tighter affair but still resulted in a narrow 2-1 loss for Lawrence Tech, completing the sweep. After a scoreless first period, Oakland took a 2-0 lead in the second period. The Blue Devils responded quickly to cut the deficit in half when Hudson Fisher scored the team's only goal, assisted by Luke Radu, just minutes after Oakland's first tally. Lawrence Tech could not find the equalizer in the third period, falling to the 2-1 final score.

The Blue Devils will look to get out of this slump in their next series against MCHC foe Northwood on the 14th and 15th of November.
