SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Lawrence Tech University has announced the appointment of
Oscar Olejniczak as the new Head Coach for its football program, the Blue Devils. Starting from February 17, 2025, Olejniczak, who has a robust background in coaching at both the collegiate and high school levels, will commence his role at the university.
Oscar Olejniczak brings a wealth of experience to Lawrence Tech, having served in assistant coaching roles at Michigan State, Wayne State, and Campbell universities. His coaching career also includes significant achievements in high school football within the Catholic League, guiding teams from Detroit U-D Jesuit and Royal Oak Shrine to success. This appointment follows the departure of
Scott Merchant, who played a critical role in the development of Lawrence Tech's football program since its revival in 2017 after more than six decades.
The University expressed gratitude towards Merchant for his contributions and is enthusiastic about Olejniczak's leadership potential. Olejniczak's appointment is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen the team's competitive edge in the Mid-States Football Association, reflecting his proven track record in team building and player development.
