Men's Lacrosse Edges Out Taylor in Conference Thriller

UPLAND, Ind. - In a nail-biting conference clash, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils men's lacrosse team claimed a hard-fought victory against the Taylor Trojans on March 29, 2025, at Wheeler Stadium in Upland, IN. The Blue Devils, facing a halftime deficit of 7-8, rallied to secure a 14-13 win, with Brendan Shinavier playing the hero by scoring the game-winning goal in the decisive sixth period.

From the onset, this matchup was earmarked to be a showcase of resilience and strategic prowess. Lawrence Tech showed staggering offensive solidarity, highlighted by junior Brendan Shinavier's four-goal haul, which included the pivotal goal scored at 00:56 in the sixth period that ultimately sealed the victory for the team. Teammates senior Grady Holmes, graduate student Eli Lozinski, freshmen Luke Gannon, senior Jacob Cianci, and graduate student Ryan Pastorino also made significant contributions, with Holmes not only adding two goals but also dishing out a game-high four assists.

Defensively, the Blue Devils relied on freshmen Dylan Porter, who stood firm between the posts making nine crucial saves. The defense was tested throughout the game but managed to hold off the Trojans long enough for the offense to capture the lead. The victory not only emphasizes Lawrence Tech's competitive spirit but also improves their season record to an impressive 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils are set to host Siena Heights at the Blue Devils Stadium on April 2, 2025, aiming to continue their winning form in front of their home fans. With the current momentum and the home field advantage, the team is optimistic about their prospects in this upcoming encounter.
