Women's Lacrosse Secures a Hard-Fought Victory Over Kalamazoo College

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - In a thrilling regular-season lacrosse contest on March 5, 2025, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils edged out the Kalamazoo College Hornets with a final score of 14-12 in Kalamazoo, MI. The Blue Devils, who are now sitting at a .500 win rate with a record of 2-2, demonstrated resilience and team spirit to claim the win after trailing at halftime.

The first half saw the Hornets slightly ahead with a score of 7-6. However, Lawrence Tech came back strong in the second half, powered by stellar performances from their key players. Junior Bella Louwerse, who also scored the decisive game-winning goal, contributed significantly along with senior Sydney Robinson. Robinson not only added two goals but also provided an impressive five assists, boosting the team's offensive plays.

Other notable performances included freshman Audrey Spencer who scored three goals and was instrumental in several offensive drives. The teamwork was further evidenced by multiple players scoring two goals each, including senior Hannah Huebner, junior Mari Pellmann, sophomore McKenna VanZant, and junior Bella Louwerse again, with junior Morgan Waligora also adding to the tally.

On the defensive end, goalie freshman Madison Gugala played a critical role with seven saves on 19 shots, holding off the Hornets and securing the win for Lawrence Tech. As the Blue Devils prepare for their next challenge, they look forward to facing #2 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) on March 10 in Williamsburg, KY. The team hopes to carry forward the momentum from this impactful victory.
