AUGUSTA, Mich. - After finishing yesterdays round in 2nd place, the Blue Devils were able to overtake 1st place and win the LTU Battle at the Brae.
Liam McEvoy came out strong, shooting a 37 on the front nine and an impressive 33 on the back. He was remarkably consistent, carding no bogeys on the back nine and racking up five birdies overall. A clean and composed round that gave him a share of the top spot on the individual leaderboard.
Thiago Ormachea matched Liam shot-for-shot, also finishing at 70. His round was balanced, with a 37 on the front nine and a 33 on the back. He found momentum late in the round with clutch birdies and solid putting. A gritty performance that puts him in a share of first place on the individual leaderboard with Liam.
Carlos Ochoa had a tougher time on the front nine, posting a 41, but showed resilience on the back with a 33, the same as the leaders. Some early mistakes cost him, but he clawed back well and showed real potential.
Richard Bramley had a steady front nine with a 40 and followed it up with a 35 on the back. Despite a few slip-ups, including some bogeys on both sides, he held it together with consistent play.
The Blue Devils mens golf team will be back in action for the WHAC Tournament on April 27th.
