Blue Devils Women's Volleyball Splits Matches To Open 25'-26' Campaign

Fort Wayne, IN - The Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils Women's Volleyball team clinched a hard-fought victory against Bethel College (IN) in their first game at the Onset Women's Volleyball Invitational in Fort Wayne, IN on August 22, 2025. The match concluded with a thrilling 3-2 win for the Blue Devils, marking a victorious start to their season under new head coach, Gustavo Heidrich.

The match kicked off positively for the Blue Devils, who took the first two sets with identical scores of 25-19, showcasing their dominance on the court. However, Bethel (IN) rebounded in the third and fourth sets, winning 25-21 and 26-24 respectively, which pushed the match to a deciding fifth set. The tension reached its peak here, where Lawrence Tech narrowly claimed the set 15-13, securing their victory.

Key performances were seen from Maria Trevino Nunez, leading with 22 kills, followed by Nya Matley with 20 kills, who also contributed significantly with 5 blocks, matching Nicole Hughes.
