Lawrence Tech Blue Devils Sweep Calumet in Siena Heights Volleyball Tournament

Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech University women's volleyball team, kicked off their competitive outing at the Siena Heights Tournament with a remarkable victory against Calumet College of Indiana on August 29, 2025. As the games unfolded in Adrian, MI, the Blue Devils showcased their dominance by winning all three sets, securing a final score of 3-0 against their opponents.

The first set saw the Blue Devils overpower Calumet with a hefty 25-9 score. They continued their aggressive gameplay into the second set, concluding with a 25-16 win. By the third set, despite a tighter competition, Lawrence Tech sealed their victory with a 25-17 scoreline. Key moments in the match reflected the tactical prowess and physical skill of the Blue Devils, reflected in their clinical finish in each set.

Among the standout players, Nya Matley led with 11 kills, followed by Sydney Eggleton with 8, and Kyndal James with 5. In terms of defense, James also contributed with 2 crucial blocks, supported by Dru Temple and Maria Trevino Nunez, who each delivered vital blocks. The defensive efforts were rounded out by Charley Klint, who led the team with 14 digs, playing a crucial role in thwarting Calumet's offensive moves.

The contribution was not just limited to kills and blocks. The team also performed exceptionally in service, with Klint making 3 aces. Additional support came from Deborah Bertoli and Jadeyn Bisdorf, who added multiple aces each, aiding in securing the sets comfortably.

The victory over Calumet improved Lawrence Tech's season record to 4-1. The Blue Devils are slated to continue their tournament journey on August 30 against Trinity Christian College and Olivet Nazarene University in back-to-back sessions. These matches, remaining in Adrian, MI, will provide further opportunities for the team to showcase their strength and collect more wins in their season.
