Blue Devils Women's Volleyball Dominate Siena Heights Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ADRIAN, Mich. - ADRIAN, Mich. - The Lawrence Tech University Women's Volleyball Blue Devils showcased a powerful performance to defeat Trinity Christian 3-0 in their recent matchup on August 30, 2025, at Adrian, Mich. Then showcased another incredible performance in game two against Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) in the Siena Heights Tournament Saturday.

In game one the Blue Devils took early control of the event, finishing the first set with a convincing 25-14 score. Maria Trevino Nunez led the offense with remarkable strength, attaining a total of 18 kills throughout the match. The second set proved more competitive, yet Lawrence Tech maintained their composure to narrowly win 25-22. The third set followed a similarly intense pattern, ending in a tight 25-23 score, which secured the Blue Devils' victory.

In addition to Trevino Nunez's contributions, Kyndal James and Sydney Eggleton significantly impacted the game. James provided vital defense with 2 blocks alongside her 6 kills, while Eggleton managed an impressive 12 digs. The strategic plays and assists by Dru Temple, who provided 34 assists, were crucial in setting up many scoring opportunities. Further support came from Lauren Peters and Nya Matley, each adding 2 aces, enhancing the team's service strength.
In game two, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils women's volleyball team clinched a victory against Olivet Nazarene (IL).The Blue Devils won the match with a final score of 3-1, elevating their season record to 6-1.

The match commenced with intense competition, with Lawrence Tech narrowly winning the first set, 25-22. Despite a setback in the second set with a close 26-28 loss, the Blue Devils rallied in the subsequent sets. They regained their form to win the third set 25-22 and dominated the fourth set, finishing it at 25-16, securing their win decisively.

Key players were instrumental in the victory. Sydney Eggleton led the team with 14 kills and was a dual threat with 10 digs and 2 blocks. Nya Matley contributed significantly with 10 kills, while Maria Trevino Nunez added 6. In terms of defense, Nicole Hughes stood out with 3 blocks. The game also saw excellent support play, with Dru Temple providing 31 assists. Serving was strong with Charley Klint scoring 3 aces. Kyndal James would go on to receive the offensive MVP of the tournament. 

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils are set to face Madonna University in their first home game of the season on September 3, 2025, in Southfield, MI. As they prepare for this upcoming challenge, the Lawrence Tech team aims to maintain their strong performance and extend their winning record.
