SOUTHFIELD, Mich., August 29, 2025 — Lawrence Technological University (LTU) and the City of Southfield will host the inaugural LTU Day in Southfield on Friday, Sept. 19.
This citywide celebration is bringing together students, alumni, employees, residents, and local businesses to honor LTU's innovation, heritage, and strong community partnership.
The centerpiece of LTU Day will be a groundbreaking ceremony at the Southfield Municipal Campus Softball Field, the future home of LTU Women's Softball Team, followed by a community lunch.
"Lawrence Technological University is proud to call Southfield home, and LTU Day in Southfield reflects the deep ties between our university and this vibrant city," LTU President Tarek Sobh said. "Together, we are building a future of innovation, education, and community engagement."
City of Southfield leaders are equally excited.
"Southfield and LTU share a unique partnership that strengthens our community, our economy, and the university," said Kenson J. Siver, Mayor of Southfield. "LTU Day is a chance for all of us to celebrate those connections and look ahead to even greater opportunities."
