Blue Devils Struggle Against St. Francis in Non-League Football Contest

Box Score JOLIET, Ill. -  Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils faced off against the St. Francis Saints in a non-league football game held in Joliet, Illinois. Despite overcast weather conditions with mild winds, the game was charged with competitive energy, ultimately ending with St. Francis taking a 42-28 victory over Lawrence Tech.

The first half saw the Saints establishing a strong lead, concluding the half with a score of 28-7. The Blue Devils, however, demonstrated a fighting spirit in the second half. Key players such as Jaylen Johnson, Santino Palazolo, and Logan Tackett were instrumental in narrowing the gap by securing crucial touchdowns, showcasing the team's resilience and potential for a comeback.

Ryan Schuster's role as quarterback was highlighted by his delivery of four touchdown passes throughout the game. His connections with Tyler Garrett, who had eight receptions totaling 112 yards, and other receivers played a crucial part in the Blue Devils' offensive strategy. On the defensive end, Tray'Vion Hunter and Justin Greer-Sykes made significant contributions, with Hunter achieving one sack and five tackles, and Greer-Sykes recovering a forced fumble and totaling 11 tackles.

Looking forward, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils will host Saint Xavier University from Illinois on September 27, 2025, at their home ground in Southfield, Michigan, which will also mark the 2025 Homecoming game for LTU. With a current record of 0-3, the team is eager to leverage their home advantage to secure a much-needed win.
