SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — A dramatic 88th minute goal by
Presley Jones the Blue Devils rescued a 1-1 draw for Lawrence Tech.
The Saints took an early lead at the 17:36 mark. For the majority of the match, it looked as though that single strike would stand up, thanks to a stellar performance from Aquinas goalkeeper who racked up seven save on the evening.
However, Lawrence Tech's persistent offensive pressure—out shooting the Saints 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the second half—finally broke through with just over a minute left on the clock.
Presley Jones found an opening and scored unassisted at 88:25 to tie the match and secure a hard-earned point for the Blue Devils.
Physicality ramped up in the second half, with Aquinas committing five of their seven fouls and picking up a yellow card. Lawrence Tech's
Cameryn McConachie was also cautioned in the 74th minute.
Their next match will be Saturday, October 17 at Rochester Christian University.
