Blue Devils Take The Win Against Rochester Christian On The Road!

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - Lawrence Tech defeated Rochester Christian 4-2. The Blue Devils controlled the offensive tempo from start to finish, out shooting the Warriors 21 to 11 and placing 10 shots directly on target. With this victory, Lawrence Tech improved their season record to 6-5-3 (5-1-1 WHAC), while Rochester Christian dropped to 1-10-9 overall.

The scoring opened in the 20th minute when Lawrence Tech defender Nick Keuler found the back of the net with an unassisted strike. Rochester Christian answered back scoring an unassisted equalizer to tie the match at 1-1. The deadlock was short-lived, as Blue Devils midfielder Artur Kataoka exclaimed the lead for his team in the 35th minute with an unassisted goal, sending Lawrence Tech into halftime with a 2-1 advantage.

Lawrence Tech carried that momentum directly into the second half, quickly extending their lead. In the 57th minute, Alexander Prenkocevick buried a shot off a precise assist from Andrew Cook. Just five minutes later, Artur Kataoka struck again for his second unassisted goal of the afternoon, widening the gap to a commanding 4-1 cushion.

The final minutes of the match grew highly physical and tense, resulting in a second yellow card for Lawrence Tech's George Rumija in the 84th minute. Playing with a man advantage, Rochester Christian capitalized in the 89th minute with a penalty kick. Despite the late pressure and a total of eight discipline cards distributed during the contest, Blue Devils goalkeeper Noa Benallegue held strong to secure the 4-2 victory.

Their next match will be Wednesday, October 21 at Blue Devil Stadium against University Michigan Dearborn.
