SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — The Lawrence Tech University women's volleyball team delivered a dominant performance on Friday night at Don Ridler Fieldhouse, sweeping the University of Michigan-Dearborn 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-21) in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup.
LTU set the tone early in game one, jumping out to a quick lead behind sharp attacking from Maria Trevino Nunez, who racked up 17 total kills on the night. The Blue Devils hit an efficient .310 in the opening frame with 17 kills to take the set 25-19.
The second set featured a tighter battle, but LTU pulled away late thanks to a clutch service run by Trevino Nunez, including back-to-back aces to push the lead to 22-15. A late rally by UMD was cut short as a service error handed LTU the 25-22 set win.

Kyndal James was nearly unstoppable in the middle, finishing with 8 kills on a stellar .571 hitting percentage and 2 blocks. Catelyn Chapin added 5 kills and 5 block assists at the net. LTU sealed the match 25-21 on a game-ending ball-handling error by UMD.
