GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Lawrence Tech used a dominant four-quarter effort to pull away from Georgetown College for a 19-5 road victory on Saturday afternoon at Toyota Stadium in Georgetown, Ky., closing the scoring with a late power-play goal to cap a complete performance on both ends of the field.
The Blue Devils steadily built separation by outscoring Georgetown 3-2 in the first quarter, 6-1 in the second, 4-1 in the third and 6-1 in the fourth. Lawrence Tech finished with a 42-14 advantage in total shots and a 35-12 edge in shots on goal, converting that pressure into 19 goals and five assists as a team.Â
Lawrence Tech's attack was paced by a trio of prolific scorers. Bella Louwerse led the way with six points on five goals and one assist, needing only six shots and placing all of them on frame. Alyson Walendzak added four goals and two assists, including two free-position tallies, while firing a game-high 14 shots, 10 of them on goal. Mari Pellmann matched Walendzak with four goals of her own, highlighted by a key strike early in the third quarter that pushed the margin to 10-4 and effectively put the game out of reach.
