VIERA WEST, Fla. — Lawrence Tech split a spring break doubleheader Saturday at the Space Coast Complex, falling 1-0 in extra innings to Florida National before bouncing back with a 9-2 win over Indiana University South Bend.

Florida National scored the game's only run in the top of the eighth when Bianca Bartow delivered an RBI single to break a scoreless tie. Lawrence Tech out-hit Florida National 9-6 and placed runners on base throughout the game but left nine runners stranded. Alexis Lana led the Blue Devils with two hits.

Sarah Basket led the way with a complete-game performance in the circle, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out five. She also sparked the offense with a solo home run to begin a five-run sixth inning that helped put the game out of reach.
The Blue Devils totaled 15 hits in the win. Alyssa Bloomfield and Brenna Crittenden each recorded three hits, while Lana added two hits and two RBIs. Ashley Stafford also contributed two hits and two RBIs as Lawrence Tech steadily pulled away after building an early 3-0 lead.
