SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Dance Team at Lawrence Technological University brings energy, passion, and precision to every game day performance. Balancing demanding majors with practices and performances, these student-athletes continue to pursue their love for dance while building their futures at LTU.
Let's meet the talented Dance team:
Senior | Interior Design | Captain
Emma has been dancing since kindergarten, and her passion for the sport has remained constant throughout her life. She was introduced to LTU through her dad, who attended the university, and quickly realized its strong interior design program made it the perfect fit.
For Emma, being part of the Dance Team means having the opportunity to continue doing what she loves while earning her degree. She values LTU's small class sizes, which allow her to build close relationships with classmates and professors.
What does she love most about the team?
"My teammates — they are the best."
Emma encourages others to join so they can continue dancing in college while pursuing their academic goals. Her advice for those considering trying out:
"Be open to the idea of being on a dance team and performing at game days, even if you come from a studio background. I had never done game days before, and now it's my favorite thing."
Freshman | Nursing
Adrianna began ballet at just two years old, starting a lifelong journey in dance. Originally considering becoming a veterinary technician, she discovered LTU's nursing program and saw the opportunity to pursue a medical career with flexibility in future specialties.
To Adrianna, being part of the Dance Team represents dedication — to the team, to hard work, and to always putting in your best effort, even on the tough days. She appreciates LTU's welcoming campus atmosphere, study spaces, and the ability to connect with professors on a personal level.
Her favorite part of the team is the ability to continue dancing at the collegiate level while being part of something bigger than herself.
Why should others join?
"You get to continue dance or cheer in college, meet new people, and be part of a team. Being involved in a group like this makes a big difference."
Her advice for prospective dancers:
"Time management is crucial. You may not figure it out right away, and what works one semester might not work the next. Stay disciplined, keep showing up, and always give your best effort — even on the days you don't feel like it."
At LTU, the Dance Team is about more than choreography and performances. It's about leadership, discipline, friendships, and balancing passion with purpose.
These student-athletes demonstrate that you can pursue degrees in fields like interior design and nursing while continuing to grow as a performer and teammate.
