DEFIANCE, Ohio - In the first game of the doubleheader, Lawrence Tech delivered a massive offensive performance, racking up 15 hits to secure a 16-3 victory. After a scoreless first inning,
Sophia Propps scored the game's first run in the second, followed by a two-RBI double from
Alyssa Bloomfield. The Blue Devils' power was on full display with home runs from both
Delaney Monroe and
Natilee Pridemore.
Zoey Markey was nearly unstoppable at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs scored. In the circle,
Sarah Basket started the game and stuck out 8 batters before
Mikayla Timm entered in relief to close out the win.
Lawrence Tech completed the sweep with a steady 6-1 win in the nightcap. The Blue Devils took an early lead in the second inning thanks to a three-run homer from
Sarah Basket, who went 4-4 and drove in 4 runs.
Delaney Monroe extended the lead by one after a sac fly that got
Alyssa Bloomfield across home plate. LTU added insurance runs in the seventh inning when
Sarah Basket and
Sophia Propps both hit one-run doubles.
Natilee Pridemore dominated on the mound, pitching a complete game and allowing only three hits while striking out seven.
The Blue Devils will return home to face off against Aquinas on the 19th for senior day.
