Monroe's Heroics not Enough as LTU Drops Doubleheader

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - In the first game of the doubleheader on April 8, 2026, Lawrence Tech fell to Michigan-Dearborn with a final score of 4-3 in a ten-inning battle. The Blue Devils' offense was highlighted by a three-run home run from Delaney Monroe in the seventh inning, which brought home Sophia Propps and Kiersten Chong to tie the game and force extra innings. Sophia Propps led the team with two hits, while Alyssa Bloomfield, Brenna Crittenden, and Natilee Pridemore each contributed a hit to the team's total of six. On the mound, Sarah Basket delivered a strong performance, pitching 9.1 innings and recording 10 strikeouts while allowing only two earned runs. Despite the late-inning heroics and solid pitching, Lawrence Tech ultimately came up short in the tenth.

In the second game of the day, Lawrence Tech was defeated 7-1 by Michigan-Dearborn. The Blue Devils struggled to find their rhythm offensively, managing only five hits throughout the seven-inning contest. Their lone run came in the top of the seventh inning when Emmie Fowler reached with the bases loaded, scoring Sarah Basket. Natilee Pridemore, Delaney Monroe, Jacqui LeBlanc, Zoey Markey, and Emmie Fowler each recorded one hit for LTU. Pridemore started the game in the circle, pitching three innings and striking out three, while Mikayla Timm provided three innings of relief, also recording one strikeout. The loss brought Lawrence Tech's record to 19-11 for the season.

The Blue Devils will return to action on the 11th in an away matchup against Cleary.
