Anthony Hermelyn begin his 3rd season with the Blue Devils, where he works with the catching group and leads the hitting instruction within the program.
Hermelyn enjoyed a storied collegiate career at the University of Oklahoma, where he was named the 2015 Big 12 Catcher of the Year and a 1st Team All-Conference selection, prior to being a 4th round MLB Draft Choice of the Houston Astros after his senior season.
Hermelyn spent seven seasons in professional baseball (4 with the Astros and 3 in the Quebec Independent Professional League) before he turned his interests to the collegiate coaching ranks and the personal training route to assist the next generation of baseball players.
Hermelyn is a native of Dallas, Texas and he made the move to Michigan in 2018 while still playing professionally. During the off-season, Hermelyn began his coaching and private instruction career by joining the renowned Michigan Bulls Travel Program, which is regarded as one of the top Baseball Travel Programs in the Midwest. Hermelyn has coached teams at various age levels while with the program and is highly sought after for private instruction work.
In addition to his coaching duties, Hermelyn conducts personal training with individuals and small groups as a way to further develop his clubs during the summer months. While being able to coach in any area of the game, Hermelyn focuses on Catching, Hitting and Pitching
which are all areas that he has excelled in during his career as a player in both the collegiate and professional ranks.
Hermelyn specializes in developing a high performing and well-rounded player by focusing on Proper Stretching, Warmups and Conditioning Exercises to prevent sports injuries, with Player Strength, Agility and Game Skills being a point of emphasis. Hermelyn also creates and designs organized progressive training programs for each specific position and individual players.
Hermelyn holds his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma, is married, and lives in Saline.
