Saw action in 7 games in his freshman season. His most significant contribution came against Indiana Wesleyan, where he had one reception for 59 yards. His longest kick return was against Marian, where he earned 15 yards. Charlie was used a lot in blocking as his frame helped him dominate defenders and take on rushers, helping the Blue Devils' offense move the ball down the field.
