Emily Somerville

Emily Somerville enters 2021-22 as a third year graduate assistant for the Lawrence Tech women's basketball program. She comes to Lawrence Tech from a professional background where she worked for the sales team of the Toledo Mud Hens and the Toledo Walleye in Toledo, Ohio. On the court, Somerville was a four year team captain at Mason High School where she also earned the school's MVP honor and was a four year Capital City Conference All-Academic Student-Athlete. After high school, Somerville attended Siena Heights before injuries stymied her time on the east side of Adrian. For her final two years of college, Somerville went to Adrian College and earned her bachelors degree in business administration and sports management while playing basketball for the Bulldogs.

Somerville serves as the recruiting coordinator, responsible for skill/player development, team bonding, team scheduling, assistance with game planning, scouting, team travel, and camps.
During her college playing days, Somerville had career high 25 points as well as making seven three-pointers in one game. In her first year at Adrian College she played and started all of the team’s 24 games as she was the team’s second leading scorer.

Somerville coaching experience comes from being involved in various camps at big programs and universities like Duke and Michigan State. She has coached AAU basketball for four years, and was a personal trainer for many years. Professionally, Somerville was part of the staff in 2019 when the Walleye went to the Kelly Cup for the first time in program history, and was part of the program record breaking sales team in 2018. She currently resides in Southeast Michigan.
