Blue Devils Fall at Spring Arbor 4-0

SPRING ARBOR, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) men's soccer team lost against Spring Arbor University (Mich.) with a score of 4-0. The Cougars scored one goal on the first half and three on the second. Goalkeeper Maxwell Jewett (JR/Sterling Heights, Mich.) had three saves throughout the 90 minutes, two on the first half and one on the second.

The first goal of the game arrived in the 8th minute with a header from Morris Kamara after receiving the ball from Stephen Gabriele. For the rest of the first half, the Blue Devils tried tying the game with three shots by Chris Serwatka (SR/Troy, Mich.), Nicolas Rodriguez-Bermejo (JR/Madrid, Spain), and Santiago Amigo (SR/Madrid, Spain). LTU had twelve shots during the 90 minutes, five of which were on goal. The Blue Devil with the most shots on goal was Adrian Miling (SO/Las Rozas, Madrid, Spain), with two.

In the second half, the Blue Devils had eight shots. However, the Cougars outshoot LTU 13-12 in the 90 minutes of the game. In the 61st minute, Spring Arbor amplified the scoreboard when Kamara scored his second goal of the night after being assisted by Roderic Green to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead. After that, LTU tried getting closer to the Cougars on the scoreboard and had two shots before Brian D'Ascenzo scored the third goal for Spring Arbor in the 77th minute after receiving an assist from Michael Procopio. LTU had two more shots and a corner kick during the following six minutes before Kamara scored his third goal of the night to give the Cougars the final 4-0 lead.

The Blue Devils will be back on the field at the LTU Athletic Field on Saturday, September 22 at 4:00 PM when they face Madonna University (Mich.) on their Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener game.
