SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The 2020 season for Softball is right around the corner, and with that came the preseason poll for the WHAC, with the Lawrence Technological University softball team grabbing second amongst the 12 teams. Nationally, the Blue Devils are receiving votes for the 2020 season.
Following an impressive season for the 2019 year, the Blue Devils have another difficult road heavy schedule to kick off the season. Starting with the Bear Creek Tournament in Oneida, Tenn. on Friday, February 21st and going until February 23rd. Then, the following weekend, the Blue Devils head to Georgia for the NFCA Leadoff Classic Tournament which will go from Friday, February 28th until the 1st of March.
Continuing their campaign into March, LTU heads down to Kissimmee, Fla. for a tournament over spring break, playing 12 games. To open up the conference matches, the Blue Devils play the number one team in the WHAC (RV) Madonna University on Wednesday, March 25th.
This year, the home games for LTU will be held at Wayne State University. Some notable maches include Knock Cancer out of the Park versus Cornerstone University on April 11th and LTU's senior day, which will be held on April 18th against UNOH. Eight seniors highlight the roster for LTU, including Alex Amos, Jackie Mattingly, Bailey Brown, Katie Kubiak, Sydney Schultz, Meredith Adams, Brittney Bult, and Alexa Cherney.
