YPSILANTI, Mich.- In what seems to be a theme embarking on the links for the Lawrence Tech Women's Golf program, one thing seems to be inevitable, and that is that in some fashion, the Blue Devils are going to finish in the top-three of the tournament.
That was the case once again on Saturday, September 26th, as the Blue Devils road out a victory in the WGC Collegiate at the Washtenaw Country Club. Overall the team placed a score of 348, beating out Cleary University by 18 strokes for the first-place finish. It marks the third victory out of the first four tournaments so far for the Blue Devils, finishing only second on Thursday afternoon in the Pure Michigan Invitational hosted by Grace College (IN).
Overall all eight Blue Devils competing finished in the Top-20 on the afternoon, with Rachel Kristian taking the top spot shooting an 81 on the day just going +9 over par. Meanwhile, Manasa Potluri tied for third overall shooting an 87 going +15 over par. Other top-10 finishers for the Blue Devils were Sara Davis shooting 88, just +16 over par for fifth place, and Lauren Hartline shooting 92, only +20 over par for ninth place on the day. Fellow Blue Devils Julia LeFere shot a 94, tying for eleventh overall while Nicole Waldenmyer shot a 97, taking fourteenth. General tying for fifteenth was Morgan Osborne shooting 100 and fellow teammate Maddie Worrilow who also shot a 100 on the day.
The Blue Devils hit the links again on Monday, September 28th, when they head to Augusta, Michigan, for the WHAC Women's Preview at the Bedford Valley Country Club. The Women's team concludes their fall season here in the next two weeks playing in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on October 5th and 6th, then heading to Sylvania, Ohio, on October 12th for their final invite of the Fall.
