AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Blue Devils womens golf team dominated in their first WHAC conference action this season, finishing in 1st place by a whopping 58 strokes. The Blue Devils dominated from the beginning, finishing day one with a 33 stroke lead on the second place team.
The Lawrence Tech womens golf team had an outstanding performance from their individual players, with all five finishing competitors placing in the top 12 of the individual standings, highlighted by a dominant 1-2-3 finish for the team.
Alix Schickele led the way to claim the individual championship at +6 (222) after remarkably consistent rounds of 74-74-74.
Tanawan Vetchayanvivat secured second place at +11 (227), posting the team's low round of an even-par 72 in the final round, followed closely by
Wariya Turongkinanon in third at +13 (229). Rounding out the results,
Cadance Beuckelare finished in 7th at +22 (238), matching the low final round of 72, and
Claire Hollingsworth tied for 12th place at +29 (245).
The final round of the tournament saw a record for the Blue Devils womens golf program for the lowest round in their history at 293 strokes.
The Blue Devils will look to continue their stellar play when they are back in action on October 6th for the Bethel Fall Classic in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
