BOYNE FALLS, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University women's golf program delivered a masterclass performance this week, storming to a decisive victory at the LTU Collegiate Kickoff at Boyne Mountain Resort's Alpine Course. The Blue Devils established total control over the 54-hole tournament, combining crisp iron play and steady putting to finish with an impressive team score of 957 (+93). Outpacing runner-up Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College by an incredible 114 strokes, LTU showcased the depth and talent of their main squad while their secondary squad added to the host school's success by capturing a third-place overall finish.
At the center of LTU's dominant run was Cadance Beuckelare, who played composed golf from start to finish to capture the individual medalist title. Beuckelare carded steady rounds of 77, 79, and a tournament-best final-round 74 to end at +14 overall, holding off every challenger down the stretch. She was backed by stellar play across the roster, including Wariya Turongkinanon, who secured third place overall (80-79-80), and Tanawan Vetchayanvivat, who delivered a clutch final-round 77 to tie for fourth place. Adding to the highlight reel, Lalipatralada Putthaisong led the Lawrence Tech B team with a fourth-place tie of her own, while Alix Schickele notched an eagle during the event to cap off a sweep of the top individual spots for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils will look to carry the momentum from this dominant finish into their next event, the Keiser Invitational at PGA National in West Palm Beach, Florida on the 14th of September.
