AUGUSTA, Mich.- On what was a rather dreary day across the state of Michigan weather-wise, the Lawrence Tech Women's Golf program found themselves able to get 36 holes in despite the overall weather.
The Blue Devils found themselves in a bit of a slump during their first 18 holes, shooting a 354 as a team score, going into the next 18 holes just +18 strokes over from the lead team Indiana Tech. As the second round of Golf got underway, the Blue Devils found their stride shooting a 342 for the round, shooting the best team score amongst the competition. That, however, wasn't enough as the Blue Devils on the day shot a 696 as a team taking second place. Overall they were +120 off par compared to Indiana Tech's +107, while also being beat by just 13 strokes.
Overall the Blue Devils placed three players in the top-10 with the junior and Canton, Michigan native Manasa Potluri shooting a 170 overall and taking fourth place. Senior Sara Davis shot a 172 overall, taking sixth place, while fellow senior Rachel Kristian shot a 175, tying for ninth place. Fellow Blue Devils Julia Lefere and Lauren Hartline round out your team for the afternoon. Lefere shot a 179 overall tying, for fourteenth place while Hartline shot a 195, taking twenty-ninth place.
The Blue Devils look ahead as they head to Benton Harbour, Michigan, where they're slated to compete in the Bethel Invite hosted at the Harbour Shores Golf Club, next Monday and Tuesday. After that, the Blue Devils wrap up their fall season with a trip to Ohio to compete in the Lourds Invite at the Sylvania Country Club.
